Telecaster
One of my
favorite models of guitars. I started
out preferring a Stratocaster, but over the years have really grown to love the
feel, tone, and just overall simplicity and playability of a Telecaster. I’ve played a pre-CBS Tele that was just
fabulous. Notes seemed to just jump out
of the guitar. The guitar was just light
and resonate. I’ve also had the
opportunity to play a couple of Custom Shop models, including the Relic
models. All of these were great
guitars. I’ve also have played some Tele
clones from a variety of guitar makers, and there are some really great clones
out there.
Among my
favorites are:
Anderson (Tom)
Barrington
ESP
Melancon
Robin
Schecter
Suhr
For a simple guitar, there are almost an endless number of permutations… and
they all sound great.
Everyone
should own a Telecaster. It’s a true
icon and a guitar everyone should own.
